The Proposal

Since we have a slightly complicated proposal story, you'll get to hear it from both the bride and the groom!

Pamela's Story

I knew that Steve would be proposing for a while before he did - that part definitely wasn't a surprise! The surprise was how he did it. On Friday, he was going to come to our all-school assembly and propose in front of all of my students. However, he got caught in traffic and didn't make it in time, so he put it off until Saturday. On Saturday, we went out for a romantic dinner at our favorite restaurant, but we had TERRIBLE service, so Steve decided to wait a little longer. On Sunday, we went to my parents' house for Hanukkah and he was too shy to ask in front of my parents!

So, finally, on Monday we went out for dinner and rented a movie. After the movie, I went to brush my teeth and I came back to my desk to find that he had changed the screensaver on my computer to say "Will you marry me?" and he had the ring in his hand.

Of course I said yes!

Stephen's Story

I wasnt sure how I was going to ask the question. I read various ideas online, and still wasnt certain. I ended up changing her screen saver to "Marquee" and typed "Will you marry me?" as the text. I had to make sure that it would be displayed, and the monitor wouldnt shut off. I went to shave, and heard her ask "what is this?" after she went into the office. I came out, with some lotion on my face to ease down to one knee and pull the ring out of my pocket, where I'd been hiding it. I had to ask her three or four times before she actually believed that it was happening!
